Chess and Teens

[ad_1]

According to a recent Times article, many teenagers and young adults have recently developed a regular chess habit, although they could not always recall how it started. But by all accounts — from players, parents, teachers, website metrics — the game’s popularity has exploded.

Have you ever played? How did you start? Have you seen “The Queen’s Gambit,” or watched chess videos on TikTok? What do you like about the game? And if you don’t play, would you like to learn?

Tell us in the comments, then read the related article to learn more, or this guide to learn how to play.

Students 13 and older in the United States and Britain, and 16 and older elsewhere, are invited to comment. All comments are moderated by the Learning Network staff, but please keep in mind that once your comment is accepted, it will be made public and may appear in print.
